A. argyrophyllum Schott in Oest. Bot. Wochenbl. 7: 229 (1857). Perennial with many slender, fragile, prostrate stems up to 20 cm. Indumentum
dense, silvery, of large punctate, lepidote hairs. Leave0 orbicular or spathulate, obtuse, decreasing in size upwards. Racemes condensed, subumbellate, 2-3 cm. Petals entire or subemarginate, glabrous, the claws with fimbriate-dentate mar gins. Fruits broadly elliptic or obovate, emarginate or truncate, (3.5-)4.6 x 3-4.5 mm, indumentum dense, of deciduous lepidote scales; valves ± unequally inflated. Styles with ± dense basal indumentum. Seeds winged. Fl. 4-7. Mountain screes, 1200-2100 m.
