B. saxatilis Sieber ex J. & C. Presl, Del. Prag. 5(1):81 (1822) non B.saxa-tilis (Rafin.) Guss. (1843). Stems ascending or erect, shortly villous with fasciculate hairs to 1 mm, or very shortly stellate-haired. Cauline leaves ovate-orbicular, or more narrowly ovate, 15-36 x 8-30 mm, base slightly cordate to truncate, crenate-dentate, stellate-haired and prominently veined beneath. Bracteoles narrowly linear, 2-4 mm. Verticillasters densely 6-10-flowered. Calyx 6-10 mm, tubular, narrowly and shortly infundibular above, limb sometimes oblique; teeth 10, divergent, narrowly triangular, with 0-0.4 mm mucro. Corolla pink or purple (rarely white), 10-16 mm. Fl. 6-8. 1. Cauline leaves ovate-orbicular, 15-35 x 15-30 mm, lower surface with dense stellate hairs to 1 mm; stems pubescent with fasciculate and simple hairs to 0.5-1 mm; calyx 8-10 mm, teeth with 0.2-0.4 mm mucro subsp. saxatilis 1. Cauline leaves ovate, 15-20 x 8-12 mm, lower surface more densely and shortly stellate-haired; stems very shortly stellate-haired (hairs 0.1 mm); calyx 6-8 mm, teeth with 0-0.2(-0.3) mm mucro; plant more slender than in subsp. saxatilis subsp. brachyodonta subsp. saxatilis.
