B.gracilis Feinbrun in Pal. J. Bot., Jer. Ser. 1:363 (1940). Map 44. Similar to B. sarmatica in habit and colour but differing in smaller perianth,
5-6(-7) mm, with relatively shorter lobes; pedicels often deflexed towards end of flowering, 2.5-3.5(-4.5) cm in fruit; valves of capsule 10 mm, more cordate. FL 5-6. Stony hilltops, eroded shaley slopes in Pinus brutia forest, fields, 600-1500 m.

  Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Apparently related to B. sarmatica. The nomenclature is uncertain as several Caucasian taxa of the same group are still poorly understood. Feinbrun, op. cit. 364 (1940), recorded B. albana Woronow from Turkey based on Maniss. 1098, but the specimen seen is B. gracilis.
