Caucasia. Euxine element. No material has been seen from Bithynia (Ulu Da.) to substantiate Thirke's record. In Hb. Boiss. there is a gathering by Thirke with the label 'Turquie d'Europe', but this must be an error.
Sect. Latilimbus (Fed.) Damboldt. Perennial. Basal leaves with cordate, truncate or broadly cuneate base. Flowers nodding before anthesis. Calyx appendages absent or inconspicuous. Capsule nodding, opening by 3 basal pores.
