C. amana Rech. fil. in Ann. Nat. Hofmus. Wien 57:95 (1950). Perennial growing to 160 cm, stem setose below, glabrous above. Basal leaves simple or pinnatisect with 2-3(-5) pairs of lanceolate-ovate segments; cauline leaves pinnatisect; all leaves glabrous with setose margin. Capitula globose, up to 3-5 cm diam., radiant; flowers yellow. Involucral bracts obovate; receptacular bracts obovate-spathulate, acuminate; both densely sericeo-puberulent, apex blackish-violet. Involucel densely villous, with 4 long and 4 short teeth. Alt. 800-2000 m.   Type: [Turkey C5/6] Amanus, vallees, 1300-2000 m, ix 1913, Haradjian 4640 (holo. G).   S. Anatolia.
