  Erect shrub up to 2 m; young shoots virgate. Stipules subulate, persistent. Leaves linear-lanceolate to narrowly lanceolate, 5-8 x as long as broad, on short shoots up to 30 x 4 mm, on long shoots up to 70 x 12 mm,' remotely serrate, margins revolute, glabrous above, glabrous to white tomentose with prominent veins beneath, subsessile or with petioles up to 5 mm. Flowers solitary or in pairs, often densely aggregated, on c. 2 mm pedicels; hypanthium cylindrical, up to 6 mm long; sepals c. x ⅓ calyx tube; petals c. 5 mm; ovary pubescent especially above. Drupe red, broadly ovoid, up to 8(-10) mm; stone reticulate-grooved. Fl. 5-6. Dry igneous slopes, in scrub, 1400-1650 m.
