C. dorycnium L., Systema ed. 10, 2:923 (1759). Ic: Sa'ad, op. cit. t. 4 f. 1-14 (1967).   Woody-based adpressed-pubescent perennial, with erect, rigid, divaricate-branched 50-60 cm stems. Leaves sessile, entire, linear to oblanceolate. to 4.5 x 1 cm. Flowers axillary and terminal, solitary or in 2-13-fiowered cymes. Sepals 3-5 mm, adpressed-pubescent. Corolla pink, 20-25 mm. Ovary ± glabrous. 1. Outer sepals obovate, obtuse to refuse, mucronate subsp. dorycnium 1. Outer sepals lanceolate-oblong, acute to acuminate subsp. oxysepalus subsp. dorycnium.
