(1976).   Erect shrub 30-100(-150) cm. Young shoots and branches reddish-brown, pubescent, older parts glabrous, bark grey. Leaves subsessile or with petioles 2-3 mm, coriaceous, elliptic or elliptic-oblanceolate, (15-)25-45(-55) x (5-)8-11(-14) mm, obtuse or broadly acute, adaxial surface glaucous and glabrous, abaxial adpressed-pilose, margins subrevolute, thickened. Flowers in terminal and axillary clusters of 5-10, sessile, ± fragrant. Bracts ovate or oblong, 4-6(-8) x 5-6 mm, obtuse-apiculate, villous-pubescent, caducous. Perianth 10-17 mm, pink fading to brownish-yellow, sericeous; lobes ovate or oblong-ovate, 3-6 x 2.5-5 mm, obtuse or broadly acute. Ovary pubescent. Fruit ovoid, 5-6 mm, orange-red. Fl. 2-5.
