  Perennial. Stem flexuous, crispate-hairy, to 40 cm, sparingly branched. Cauline leaves palmatisect, deeply dissected into lanceolate, acute segments 3-15 x 1-2 mm. Racemes 2-4, lax, crispate-hairy. Flowers dark blue. Spur horizontal, c. 12 mm, slender, shortly and obtusely saccate. Upper petals 7 mm, bifid to 1 mm at apex. Lower petals 8-9 mm; claw 4 mm, limb ovate, c. 5 mm, bifid to middle, white-pilose. Follicles 3, ± glabrous, 10 mm; styles c. 3 mm. Fl. 7-8. Ravines and scree, c. 2000 m.

  Endemic. E. Medit. element. Allied to D. caseyi B.L. Burtt (endemic to Cyprus), differing in its dark blue flowers, horizontal and more saccate sepal spur which is 2 x (not 1.5 x) the length of the sepals, and more slender leaf segments.
