  Very similar to E. orientalis, but taller (to 2 m); leaves to 12 cm, minutely serrulate; glands smaller (1.5-2 mm diam.); fruits granulate-verruculose, seeds smaller (2-2.5 mm). Fl. 5-7(-8). On clay soil by streams and springs, in fields, under Quercus, 350-1400 m.
