Pau.   Perennial herbs with woody caudices and flowering stems ascending or erect, up to 15 cm tall. Stems, upper leaves and pedicels viscid hairy. Leaves-exstipulate, alternate, linear, shorter and conferted below, laxer and longer above and dimin-ishing to small bracts below and in the inflorescence of 2-3 flowers. Flowers often nodding, capsules 6-9-seeded, finally gaping. Fl. 4-5. On chalk or rocky limestone slopes, 90-600 m.   Type: [Algeria] Djebel Amour, Sidi-bou-Zid, Pomel (P!).
