Leaves linear-oblanceolate, strongly revolute, often in axillary fascicles, densely tomentose. Flowers pendulous in a panicle of dense-flowered cincinni. Inner sepals asymmetrically 3-nerved, as long as or longer than the petals. Capsule small, 4 mm long, entirely enclosed by the sepals. Mainly coastal, s. 1.-1500 m.

  Throughout the Mediterranean area, but rare in Turkey. Medit. element.
