  Erect perennial to 60 cm or more. Stems thinly pilose, mostly appearing green. Leaves petiolate, ± ovate to elliptic, irregularly crenate-serrate, stellate-pilose, whitish-green beneath, pale green above. Verticillasters dense, many-flowered; bracteoles about as long as calyx tube. Calyx tube 4.5-5 mm, thinly stellate pilose, hairs often with elongate central branch; teeth usually 10, 5 longer (3.5-5 mm) alternating with 5 shorter (2-3 mm), spreading, curved and with a hooked tip, stellate-pilose for 2/3 of their length. Corolla white, denselystellate-pilose outside, glabrous within upper lip. Fl. 6-8. Rocky limestone slopes, 1750-1980 m.
