M. urumiensis (Bornm.) Bornm. in Beih. Bot. Centr. 33(2): 279 (1915). Syn: Alsine urumiensis Bornm. in Verh. Zool.-Bot. Ges. Wien 60: 85 (1910)! Erect annual up to 10 cm, glabrous except for the ciliate leaves and bracts. Leaves subulate-setaceous, 1-veined. Inflorescence of a few dichasia, the lower flowers long-pedicelled, the upper densely clustered; lower pedicels 5-10 mm, the upper usually shorter than the calyx. Sepals 3-4 mm, ovate-acuminate, be-coming slightly hardened at the base in fruit, the broad membranous margin extending to the rather indistinct lateral veins. Petals narrowly lanceolate, less than ½ as long as sepals. Capsule ± ovoid, much shorter than calyx. Fl. 5-6. Saline soils. Type: [Iran] Khoi in pratorum siccis, 23 v 1884, Knapp (holo. JE! iso.
