Stera slender, 15-50 cm. Turion leaves dark green, stiffly divergent, linear, (40-)70-200 x 2.5-50-8) mm, 5-11-veined, apex obliquely cucullate, base with broad scarious sheathing margins; cauline distant, slightly divergent from stem but suberect. Raceme dense, 10-20-fiowered, oblong, 4-9 cm. Perianth segments yellow, linear-oblong, 6-7 mm. Filaments densely villous except at apex; anthers yellow. Capsule longer than persistent erect perianth segments. Fl 7-8. Boggy arms, wet banks, edges of stream;, in peaty pastures, 200-2200 m. Hudson in its compressed vagmate basal leaves, cauline leaves diverging from stem, and anthers with villous filaments, and from N. scardicum Kol in its usually taller habit, 6-7 mm perianth segments and longer leaves. |
