Scape erect, 10-30 cm. Leaves linear, often exceeding scape, 2-4 mm broad, with a white iine on upper surface; margins entire, glabrous. Raceme corymbose, with 6-20 flowers. Perianth segments 15-21 mm, white inside, white with a green fascia outside. Fruiting pedicels rigid, horizontal-spreading to slightly arcuate, lower ones 50-90 mm. Capsule unwinged. 2n = 44. FL 3-5. Fields, water meadows, scrub, Ficus orchards etc., s.l.-1500 m.   Described from Germany and France (Hb. Linn. 428/13, photo!).   Mainly N. Turkey, W., S. & S.E. Anatolia, Islands.
