Papaver paucifoliatum

 

 

P. paucifoliatum (Trautv.) Fedde, Pflanzenr. 40 (IV.104): 366 (1909). Syn: P. orientale var. paucifoliatum Trautv. in Acta Hort. Petrop., 4: 346 (1876).
Perennial herb, less robust than P. orientale. Leaves in the lower part of the stem only, at (l-)2-3 nodes. Petals 4, brick-red, immaculate, 3-5 cm. Fl. 6-7. Rocky slopes, meadows, 2300-2700 m.
Type: In Transcaucasia rossicae districtu Achaizich ad lacum Tabizchiri nec non in Armenia Pylis Gösöl Dara, 1871, Radde (LE; photo. E!).
