  Plants normally more robust than P, bifolia. Stem ridged above;2(-4) basal leaves subopposite. Spike lax, many-flowered. Flowers greenish-white, less scented. Lateral sepals obliquely ovate-lanceolate, to 13 mm; dorsal sepal triangular-cordate, c. 8 x 8 mm, forming a shield over the column. Petals linear-lanceolate. Labellum slightly curved inwards, darker greenish 11-15(-18) mm. Spur filiform, slightly inflated towards apex, to 40 mm. Column short, broad, viscid discs large, circular. Ft 6-7. Deciduous and coniferous forest, grassland, mainly on forest margins, s.l-2200 m.
