  W. Iran, Transcaucasia: Turkestan? Very variable in leaf shape. Plants with ± solid stems, leaf segments with divergent lobes, smaller flowers and a shorter achenial beak were referred by Davis (Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 23:114) to R. calvertii, but the characters are too poorly correlated to justify specific separation. This is the commonest form in dryish habitats in Turkey and in facies resembles R. polyanthemos. R. kotschy i (sensu lato) grows in a variety of habitats and requires further study.
