  Low dense shrub up to 1 m, with spreading or flexuous branches. Cortex bluish-pruinose. Prickles straight or slightly curved, stout, tapering from a very swollen, ± rounded base, numerous, uniform. Leaflets usually 5, obovate to suborbicular, 0.7-1.3 x 0.5-1.1 cm, uni- or bi-serrate, teeth short and rather small, glabrescent; stipules narrow, glandular-serrulate; auricles short, ± triangular, divergent. Flowers usually solitary, bracteate. Pedicels short, 0.2-1 cm, with scattered stalked glands. Sepals usually entire, narrowly lanceolate, 1-1.4 cm, glandular on back, sub-erect after anthesis, persistent until maturity. Petals 1.2-1.5 x 1.1-1.5 cm, whitish-pink. Styles ± hairy, stigma-head loose, ± conical; disc rather narrow, ± flat with a wide orifice. Hypanthia subglobose, 0.6-1.1 cm long, with stalked glands, red. Ft. 6-7. Dry slopes on igneous rocks, 800-3000 m.
