Ic: Širj., op. cit. 1(5): t. 11 f. 94-95, t. 12 f. 14-15. Figure 11, p. 463. Sparingly pubescent, branched from base or in the upper half; stems decumbent or erect, 20-50 cm. Stipules lanceolate, dentate. Leaflets oblong to linear-oblong, 10-30 x3-10 mm, denticulate. Peduncle 2-6 cm. Flowers numerous, in dense globose to ovate heads. Calyx campanuiate, 3-3.5 mm; teeth lanceolate, somewhat shorter than the glabrescent tube. Corolla lilac-blue. 5.5-7 mm. Legumes 1-3-seeded, oblong, somewhat compressed, nerved lengthwise, seed-bearing part 4.5-6 x 2-3 mm, tapering into a beak 2.3 mm, forming oblong ± lax racemes. Seeds oblong, smooth, 2.5 x 1 mm. Fl. 5-7. Wet or saline places, cultivated land, fallow fields, s.l-1500 m. Described from S. Russia (Podolia), Besser (holo. KW). N.W. Turkey, C. & S. Anatolia.
