O. persicus Boiss., Diagn. ser. l(10):36 (1849). Syn: O. armeniacum Bordz. in Feddes Rep. 30:378, 570 (1932). Differs from O. hispidus in its glabrous leaf lamina, and in its generally shorter (c. 7 mm) narrowly elliptic fruit with a narrow margin, Fl. 6. Fallow fields, 1920-2400 m. Type: [N. Iran] in monte Elburz prope pagum Passgala, Kotschy 305 (iso. BM!). E. Anatolia. B9 Van: Başkale, 2400 m, D. 23341! Van to Hoşap, 20 km E. of Hasbaşi, İ920 m, Hub.-Mor. 10911; Çuk Gediği, 22 km from Başkale to Hoşap, 2400 m, Birand & Karamanoğlu 465. The following specimens agree with O. persicus in having ± glabrous leaf laminas but lack ripe fruit: A7 Gümüşane: Buyukdere, above Artebir, Sint. 1894:7277! B10 Van: 5 km N.E. of Başkale, 2150 m, D. 45931! W. & N.W. Iran, Soviet Armenia. Ir.-Tur. element. This and the preceding species are closely allied and may prove to be conspecific. |
