Stems ± erect, branched, setose or scabrous, 8-60 cm. Leaves setose above and beneath. Petals c. 5 mm, white, pink or purplish. Fruit 10-12 x3-4 mm, with the whole surface papillose. A remarkable variant is C4 Konya: Küçük Köy, 980 m, Helbaek 2625, in which the spines on the fruit are reduced to small pointed tubercles. This plant occurred in the same general area as the normal type, represented by Helbaek 2545, cited above. |
