A. haussknechtii Boiss. & Reuter in Boiss., Fl. Or. 3:310 (1875). Decumbent sparsely pubescent annual. Stems branched from base, 8-20 cm.Leaves 1.5-4.5 cm, ovate in outline, 3-pmnatisect into linear-oblanceolate 1.5-3 x 0.5 mm lobes. Capitula radiate; peduncles becoming somewhat thickened. Involucre 0.75-1.25 cm broad; inner phyllaries oblanceolate, acute, usually with pale brown scarious margins. Receptacle shortly conical; paleae oblanceolate, sometimes lacerate and abruptly acuminate at apex. Ray flowers 15-20; ligules 5-7.5 mm. Disc corollas c. 3 mm, tubes becoming inflated and purplish at maturity. Achenes cylindrical, 2 mm, finely ribbed, weakly tuberculate; those of ray with persistent corolla bases, exauriculate, those of disc with a dentate auricle 0.5-0.75 mm. Fl. 4-5.
