Transcaucasia. Ir.-Tur. element. Markgraf 11066 from Prov. Ankara is an interesting western extension of the species' range which is otherwise restricted to the Anatolian diagonal eastwards to the mountains around Lake Sevan in Soviet Armenia. The record of the species from B5 Kayseri: Erciyas Da., 2400-2900 m, 1902, Zederbauer! (Ann. Nat. Hofmus. Wien 20, 4:428, 1907) is based on a misidentification of C. frigida.
