E. daenensis Vierh. in Beih. Bot. Centr. 19(2):514 (1906). Similar to E. uniflorus but indumentum of peduncles contains some glandular hairs in addition to spreading hirsute and smaller weak adpressed hairs. The capitula appear to be consistently larger with involucres 1.5-1 .8 cm broad. Fl. 9. On black calcareous ('calcare nigro') slopes, 2900 m. Type: [W. Iran] Kuh Daena, Kotschy 761 (iso. E! K! W!). S.E. Anatolia. C10 Hakkari: d. Çölemerik, Cilo Da., 2900 m, Nâbelek 3519! W. Iran. Ir.-Tur. element. Although distinguished only by the above two characters, this species nevertheless appears to be quite distinct from E. uniflorus. |
