The type: [Turkey B8 Erzurum] in summo monte Techdagh prope Erzeroum, 2745 m, Huet du Pavilion (K!) appears to be an unusually small plant of H. graveolens (c. 9 cm tall) with indumentum less dense than in typical members. Another sheet ('Armenia', Calvert & Zohrab 585!) bears a mixed collection including similar fragments of H. graveolens, a flowering stem of H. plicatum, and another flowering shoot with intermediate characteristics. This may possibly be evidence of hybridization between the two species.
