J. moschus (Habl.) Bobrov in Bot. Zhurn. 43:1545 (1958).
Dwarf, rosulate perennial, stoutly taprooted. Leaves petiolate, simple, lyrate or pinnatisect, sparsely arachnoid and densely glandular-pitted to glabrescent, smooth and eglandular above, white and densely arachnoid beneath. Capitula sessile, usually solitary in each rosette. Involucre subglobose, 25-40(-50) mm broad; phyllaries 4-5-seriate, lanceolate, outer arachnoid, recurved or reflexed, inner glabrescent. Flowers lilac-pink, very fragrant. Achenes longitudinally striate or transversely rugulose, 4-5 mm. Pappus 2-4 x as long as achenes, deciduous, hairs barbellate.
1. Leaves simple to lyrate, 1-7-lobed, woolly and glandular-pitted above (terminal segment ovate to orbicular with obtuse apex) subsp. moschus
1. Leaves l(-2)-pinnatisect with numerous narrow segments, mostly glabrescent,± smooth and eglandular above subsp. pinnatisecta

Caucasia, N.W. Iran. Ir.-Tur. element. Although the two subspecies are strikingly different in leaf shape, mixed populations, with intermediates, have been seen from Erciyas Da., Ararat, Yildiz Da. and the neighbourhood of Gümüşane. In these cases all the collected specimens had glandular-pitted leaves. The variation in achene marking needs study on more extensive fruiting material before its taxonomic value can be assessed.
The only other species of Jurinella is the caulescent J. squarrosa (Fisch. & Mey.) Iljin from Soviet Armenia.
