Basal leaves entire to pinnatipartite, 3-20 cm; segments linear to linear-lanceolate, pubescent or ± floccose to ± glabrous. Capitula 1-7 per stem, 13-30 mm long. Outer phyllaries 3-6 mm, lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate; inner 8-20 mm, lanceolate. Flowers yellow, at least 1.5 x as long as inner phyllaries. var. jacquiniana (W.Koch) Chamberlain in Notes R.B.G. Edinb. 33:433 (1975). Syn: Podospermum jacquinianum W.Koch, Syn. Fl. Germ. Helv. ed. 1:425 (1837)!
