below into a tuber. Leaves entire, 6-10 x 0.8-1.5 cm, linear-lanceolate, densely lanate, contracted below into a petiole, margin ± undulate. Capitula 1 per stem, 11-16 mm. Inner phyllaries 11-16 mm, lanate and shortly black-hairy. Flowers yellow. Achenes c. 8 mm, densely lanate, indumentum merging with the pappus; pappus hairs barbellate and plumose. Fl. 3-5. Records of S. lanata from C. Anatolia probably refer to S. pseudolanata. |
