S. paucilobus DC, Prodr. 6:352 (1838). Floccose perennial with stems 30-70 cm. Leaves petiolate, pinnatisect, lobes usually dentate, terminal lobe cordate, lateral lobes usually 1-2-paired, distant. Capitula discoid, few-flowered, 0.3-0.5 cm broad, numerous in a compound corymb. Phyllaries 6-8 mm, lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous. Calycular bracts 1-2 mm. Achenes 2.5-3 mm, glabrous. Pappus 6-7 mm, whitish. Fl. 7-8. Damp places, rocky slopes, 2285-2600 m. Syntypes: in itinere á Persia ad Indiam, Belanger; [Iran] ad Zerdkou, Aucher [3442] (K! BM!). S.E. Anatolia.
