T. chiliophyllum (Fisch. & Mey.) Schultz Bip., Tanacet. 47 (1844). Herb with rhizomatous, somewhat woody, rootstock. Stems (15-)25-35 cm, leafy, greyish-pubescent. Basal leaves 2-3-pinnatisect, 8-15 cm (incl. 2.5-6 cm petioles), oblanceolate in outline, primary segments (6-) 10-25-paired, generally opposite, c. 1-2 cm, secondary segments 2-10-paired, oblong-obovate, 1-4 x 0.4-1 mm, obtuse, subacute or acute at apex, margins entire or again divided into 3-5 lobes, greyish-pubescent and glandular-pitted; cauline leaves similar, 5-7 on each stem, becoming smaller and sessile above, uppermost ones often 1-pinnati-sect. Capitula 7-10(-14) in ± dense corymbs, sometimes solitary. Involucre 3-7 mm broad; phyllaries ovate to linear-oblanceolate, 2-4 x 1.25-1.75 mm, sub-glabrous or lanate-pubescent, margins usually brown, inner ones scarious above. Ray flowers 10-12, yellow; ligules 2-4 x 1.5-2 mm, shallowly 3-toothed at apex. Disc flowers c. 2 mm. Achenes 2-2.5 mm, 4-5-ribbed; corona crenulate, 0.1-0.2 mm. Fl. 5-7. Igneous rocky slopes, limestone cliffs and bare shaĺy slopes, 1670-3200 m. 1. Capitula numerous. 3-3.5 mm broad; ligules 1-1.5 mm; leaf lobes often linear, acute, softly pubescent var. heimerlei 1. The capitula of T. uniflorum are larger (c. 1 cm broad) and have longer ligules (0.75-1 cm). |
