Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. This handsome species is related to T. coccineum and to the Caucasian Pyrethrum silaifolium Stev., both of which have dissected leaves (to a lesser extent in the latter species) and large capitula with well-developed ray flowers. They differ from T. zahlbruckneri in having solitary (or rarely in P. silaifolium 2-4) capitula, and T. coccineum, of course, differs in the colour of its ray flowers. T. zahlbruckneri is more distantly related to the generally corymbose T. corymbosum with which it was originally compared.
