T. purpureipetiolatum van Soest in Acta Bot. Neerl. 9:310, f. 7 (1960). Leaves greyish-green, glabrous; petioles and central nerves wine-red; side lobes acute, often retroverse; terminal lobe elongate-sagittate, often with incisions, ± acute. Scapes ± glabrous. Involucre with ovate outer phyllaries; these adpressed or with recurved tips, often reddish. Stigmas blackish. Achenes straw-coloured, relatively small (4 mm, incl. 1 mm cone). Fl. 5-7. Damp pasture, flushes, 1720-2700 m.
