Masaryk Brno 52:17 (1925) t. 3 (no. 3), f. 4, 19; Matricaria (Chamaemelum) arlgirdensis Blakelock in Kew Bull. 1949:58 (1949)! Figure 8, p. 179. Rhizomatous perennial, 4-18 cm. Stems solitary or 2-6 arising from rhizome, unbranched. Leaves 1-2-pmnatisect: laciniae lanceolate-acute, linear-filiform or triangular-acute. Capitula solitary, terminal, radiate, 0.8-1.3 cm broad (excl. ligules), borne on long or short, ± pubescent peduncles. Outer phyllaries triangular-acute, inner oblong-obtuse or subobtuse, all with conspicuously black, crisped, membranous margins. Receptacle hemispherical. Ligules 5.5-11 mm; corolla lobes of disc flowers with or without blackish tips. Achenes (immature) up to 1.5 mm, angular-oblong, anteriorly smooth, posteriorly 3-ribbed, ribs thin, white; corona of ray achenes 2-lobed, free, of disc achenes 3-lobed (posterior lobe free), white, up to ⅓-½ as long as achene. Fl. 7-8. Volcanic craters, loams, screes and flushes, etc., 1250-4400 m. Type: [Iran] im Ssahend Gebirge (Kuh-e Sahand) bei Schah-Jordi, 20 vi 1847, 2590 m, Buhse. Scattered in E. Anatolia.
