Stems 1 to many, unbranched or branched above. Leaves 1-2-pinnatisect; laciniae filiform, mucronate. Capitula usually 2 to many, rarely solitary, radiate, 0.8-1.3 cm broad (excl. ligules); peduncles long or short, sparsely pubescent, laxly corymbose. Phyllaries puberulent or glabrescent, outer triangular-acute, inner oblong-lanceolate, obtuse; margins dark or pale brown, membranous. Receptacle hemispherical or ovoid. Ligules 8-13 mm, reflexed orspreading; corolla lobes of disc flowers eglandular at tips. Achenes up to 1.5 x 0.5-0.8 mm, linear-oblong or obpyramidal, profusely mucilaginous, dark brown or pale brown at maturity, anteriorly ± tuberculate-rugulose, posteriorly 3-ribbed, ribs thin, white; corona very short, marginiform, tabulate, white, 1/8-1/6(1/5) as long achene.
