Basal leaves lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, lamina 40-130 x 4-11 mm, petiole 20-40 mm; cauline ± linear, sessile, acuminate, 10-70x1-8 mm. Calyx 5-9 mm, lobes lanceolate-ovate, ± acute, densely white-tomentose. Corolla reddish-purple, fading blue, drying blackish-violet, 7-12 mm, limb divided to c. 1/2. Faucal appendages oblong-lanceolate, acute, cordate. Stamens and style usually slightly exserted. Nutlets 9-15 x 10.5-15 mm, 2-winged; outer wing 4 mm broad, margin undulate, inner 1.8 mm broad, incurved, margin cristate-dentate, glochids entirely absent. Fl. 6-7.
