Suffruticose perennial with erect or ascending, slender, fertile stems up to 11 cm. Indumentum monomorphic of dense, silvery-canescent, lepidote hairs 0.2-0.3 mm in diameter. Cauline leaves increasing in size upwards, very narrowly linear-oblanceolate, c. 10 x 0.5-1.5 mm. Corymbs simple or rarely branched, con-gested. Sepals acute, 2.5-4.5 mm, not inflated at maturity. Petals obovate or spathulate, usually entire, c. 5.5 x 2 mm, claws sparsely hairy with entire mar-gins. Ovaries orbicular, emarginate, with dense lepidote indumentum. Styles 2.5-3 mm, dilated at the base, hairy in the lower part. Fl. 5. Steppe.
Type: [Turkey B7 Elaziğ] Kharput in summo monte Kisil Depe, 10 v 1889, Sintenis 323 (holo. G! iso. K! W!).
Endemic; Ir.-Tur. element. Allied to A. lycaonicum, and known only from the type gathering.
