Cosmopolitan weed in temperate regions. Very variable in all characters. Numerous forms have been described. C. thracica Vel. (Sitz. Böhm. Ges. Wiss. 37: 11, 1893), described from Bulgaria, was distinguished from C. bursa-pastoris on its longer styles and shorter petals. Although it is recorded from European Turkey, these records may well be C. bursa-pastoris.
