Stems ascending to erect, 7-25 cm, with an indumentum of short glandular hairs, rarely almost glabrous. Lower leaves oblong-obovate, dentate to pinnatifid. Upper leaves repand-dentate. Petals entire, purple, 8-10 mm. Mature siliquae 25-30 x c. 1.5 mm. Fl. 6-7. Fields etc., 800-3000 m. Type: [U.S.S.R.] in deserto Caspico, locis praesertim praeruptis et nitrosis, Pallas.
