C. persica Boiss., Diagn. ser. 1(6): 12 (1845). Ic.: Solms in Bot. Zeit. 64: t. 2, f. 7-8 (1906). Annual 5-25 cm, branched from base or sub-simple, often violet-stemmed. Leaves ovate-elliptic, deeply cordate at base. Pedicels c. 2 mm in flower, c. 4 mm in fruit. Sepals equal, none saccate. Petals small, 5x2 mm, yellow or deep yellow, oblong, slightly broader towards apex, sometimes veined with purple. Stamens ± equal. Stigma rather indistinctly bilobed. Siliqua erect, loosely adpressed to stem, 2-4 cm x 1.5 mm with a very short punctiform stigma and several indistinct nerves. Seeds pale brown, papillose. Cotyledons incumbent. Fl. 3-5.
