Annual foetid herb with erect, simple or branched stems, 10-50 cm. Basal leaves rosette-forming or not, lyrate-pinnatifid, petiolate. Upper leaves ± sessile. Petals (15-)19-21 x 5-6 mm, obovate. Fruiting pedicels thick, adpressed to stem, 3-6 mm. Fruit 17-38 x 3-5 mm, including a beak 5-9 mm; valves glabrous or with scattered white hairs. Fl. 3-5. Fields and waste places, s.l.-200 m.
