H. persica Boiss. in Ann. Sci. Nat. 17: 64 (1842). Syn: H. podocarpa Boiss., op. cit., 65 (1842); H. karsianus Busch in Bot. Zhurn. 20(1): 85, t. 2 (1935). Biennial or perennial herb. Stems erect, somewhat strict, with an indumentum of long simple eglandular hairs only. Lower leaves oblong to narrowly obovate, entire to pinnatifid; upper leaves oblong, usually entire. Sepals 8-10 mm. Petals purple to brownish, up to 30 mm, with the limb linear, reflexed. Fruits glabrous, or very rarely sparsely pilose,deflexed. Fl. 7 Type: Aderbaijan, Aucher 4103 (BM!). Kurdistan.
