Leaves thinnish, villose; basal leaves oblong, entire or obscurely repand-dentate; median stem leaves narrowly oblong, subentire. auricles ovate-oblong. Flowers 4-5 mm, sepals pilose. Fruits densely tomentose-villous (hairs hiding the loculus), 10-25x4-7 mm, usually tapering below, with a thick narrow wing on either side of loculus (some-times obsolescent), constricted above the loculus and widening out into an obo-vate or broadly spathulate, emarginate, terminal wing. Ft. 4-5. Rocky slopes (generally limestone), 960-2000 m.

Endemic; Ir.-Tur. element. Very variable in the length of its fruits and in the development of the wing. Short-fruited variants approach I. undulata, which differs, however, in its broad, membranous wing.
