Fl. 4-5. Shady limestone rocks and rocky slopes, 550-1800 m. Type: [Turkey C6 Adiyaman] Besnie, Aucher 211 (holo. G! iso. K!). Mesopotamia. B8 Bitlis: Kambos Da., above Hurmuz, 1800 m, D. 2343 (approaching I. guestii)! C6 Gaziantep: Fevzipaşa to Gaziantep, 550 m, Hub.-Mor. 13781! C8 Mardin: Mardin. Sint. 1888: 931! N. Iraq. Ir.-Tur. element. Very variable in the size and form of its fruits, possibly due to introgression with other species (e.g. I. buschiana). I. guestii Blakelock (Sect. Apterolobus, from N. Iraq) intergrades with I. cochlearis and may not be specifically distinct. |
