S. elatum Koch, Ind. Sem. Hort. Berol. Append 14 (1854). Perennial, c. 1 m, much branched, glabrous. Leaves all simple, lanceolate, ± regularly toothed on margins, shortly petiolate, cuneate at base, acute at apex. Racemes in flower and fruit loosely congested. Petals 7-8 mm. Fruiting pedicels 7-12 mm, ± horizontally spreading. Siliquae 13-17 x 1 mm, 3-nerved, curved or straight; style absent; stigma capitate, bilobed. Seeds broad oblong, c. 1.5 mm long. Fl. 3-5. Stony slopes, c. 2000 m. Described from Armenia. Armenia. A9 Erzurum: nr. Oltu & Kars; nr. Kağizman (Grossheim 4: map 179). B9 Ağri: between Zidikan and Velibaba, 2500 m, Rech. 15060! Soviet Armenia. Related to the Central European S. strictissimum L. which is less branched, never glabrous and has siliquae at least twice as long as those of the Armenian species. |
