Siliculae orbicular, 10-12 x 10-15 mm; apical sinus narrow, stigma sessile, included within sinus; septum 5-8 x l.5-2.5 mm. Seeds smooth, 6 in each loculus, golden brown. Fl. 4-5. Iran (also recorded in Fl. URSS from Tian Shan and Pamir Alai). Although the Turkish record represents a long extension of the known range of this species, T. kotschyanum may be found further east in Turkey. The closely allied Syrian and Lebanese T. brevicaule Boiss. & Ky. may not be specifically distinct but appears, from the scant material available, to have constantly acute auricles to the leaf bases in contrast to the rounded auricles of T. kotschyanum. |
