Flowering stems numerous, ascending-erect, 5-10 cm, l-2(-4)-flowered, purplish, sparsely adpressed retrorse-hairy. Leaves adpressed retrorse-hairy above, glabrous below; basal narrowly spathulate to linear-lanceolate, 10-20 x 1-3 mm, narrowed into petiole, attenuate toward apex, ± dentate; cauline linear-lanceolate, sessile. Flowers ± erect. Calyx lobes lanceolate, 2-4 x 1 mm, erecto-patent, obtuse, sparsely ciliate on revolute margin. Appendages lanceolate, acute, longer than glabrous ovary. Corolla campanulate, 7-14 x 7-9 mm, divided to ⅓glabrous, blue. Style ± exserted. Stigmas 3. Capsule nodding. Fl. 7-8. Basalt and limestone rocks, 1700-2550 + m. Type: [Turkey B10 Ağri] in monte Ararat majore, ad lacum Küpgöl, Radde [664] (holo. LE, photo!). E. Anatolia. A9 Kars: Killik Da., W. of Akçay to Cumaçay road, 2250-2500 m, Watson et at, 3400! B8 Erzurum: 48 km from Hinis to Pasinler, in Aras Gorge, 1700 m, D. 46425! Kara Kaya Da. N. of Hinis, 2450 m, Watson et al. 3699(!). Endemic? Ir.-Tur. element. Closely related to C. bornmuelleri, but differing in having longer, slender stems; leaves narrowly spathulate to often linear-lanceolate; calyx lobes broadly lanceolate, obtuse, appendages lanceolate, acute, longer than ovary.
