A. blepharophylla Boiss., Fl. Or. 1: 693 (1867). Erect, tufted perennial, 10-30 cm, glabrous to puberulent below. Rosette leaves 6-15 cm, linear-setaceous; stem leaves 2-6 cm, becoming shorter upwards, linear. Inflorescence a rather lax cymose panicle of three to seven 3(-5)-flowered cymules; peduncles glandular-pubescent; pedicels 2-10 mm. Sepals 2-3•5 mm, broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse, with a (l-)3-veined, green or sometimes dark-tipped median portion and a broad scarious to coriaceous margin. Petals oblanceolate to obovate, 11/2-2 x longer than sepals. Staminal glands 10, finger-like, prominent. Capsule ovoid, exceeding calyx. 1. Sepals 2-2•5 mm, broadly ovate, 1•25 x longer than broad; leaf margins usually long-ciliate, occasionally glabrous (cilia of stem leaves 0•3-0•6 mm); petals c. 1 1/2 x longer than sepals var. blepharophylla 1. Sepals 2•5-3•5 mm, ovate to oblong ovate, 11/2-2 x longer than broad; leaf margins glabrous or very shortly ciliate (cilia of stem leaves less than 0•2 mm); petals almost 2 x longer than sepals var. parviflora var. blepharophylla.
