D. hymenolepis Boiss., Diagn. ser. 1(8): 64 (1849). Figure 2, p. 107. Perennial, 12-50rm, all parts densely pruinose. Lower leaves 30-60 x (l-)2.5- 3.5 mm, linear to linear-lanceolate, acuminate. Flowers 3-7 in a head, pedicels 1-2 mm. Bracts leaf-like, about as long as the inflorescence. Bracteoles 4, about as long as the calyx, inner oblong-ovate, truncate, margin membranous, tips long, green, subulate to aristate, outer narrower. Calyx 12-19 x 3-4 mm, widest about the middle, green, teeth 3-4 mm, rounded, obtuse, mucronate, purple. Petal limb 5-6 mm, magenta-carmine, barbuiate, dentate. Fl. 6-7. Rocky slopes, 2160 m.
